2018 National Championship to be the Largest Event in Quidditch Canada’s History

With 17 teams confirmed to be in attendance for Quidditch Canada’s National Championship in Hamilton, ON on March 31-April 1, this is guaranteed to be the largest event in the history of Canadian quidditch. Beyond the number of teams, Tim Hortons Field is also confirmed as being the largest enclosed venue in which quidditch has ever been played, making this event historic not just for Canadian quidditch, but for the sport overall.

Four teams will be travelling from out West, making this record-breaking event possible: The UBC Thunderbirds Sports Club, the Calgary Mavericks, the UBC Quidditch Club, and the Edmonton Aurors – teams ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at this past Western Regionals, respectively. This event will be the first championship in which both the western and eastern regions are largely represented, giving teams from both regions an opportunity to determine how they stack up against each other.

#QCNationals2018 is made possible by the ongoing support of Tourism Hamilton.
